Checklist of Steps
The following will help you develop an attitude, mindset and approach of preparedness:
1. The most important first step you can take is having the right mindset. This includes a positive and planned approach to everything about prepping. Panic and a lack of preparation are your two greatest enemies. A good technique is to start framing your mind towards action and success buy reinforcing positive and hopeful outcomes to challenge the negative and fear messaging that constantly surrounds us. Try saying some of these things to yourself “Every step towards being prepared, however small, is a step forward”, “The future is ours to create and I’m playing my part in that creation by doing this”, “I don’t need to save the world, I just need to start with myself and work outwards from there”.
2. Connecting in with your community and finding those who are aligned with your drive to prep is highly recommend. The freedom communities and similar have been set up to address a need, you’re not alone in wanting to get prepared so work as a community, so build connections when you can. Don’t just socialise but intentionally talk to other and find out if they are someone you can work with on prepping initiatives, network and succeed together.
3. Create a priority list and plan. Thinking through your strategy and ensuring you have considered how you’re going to survive, with who and with what resources. The next few core levels will help you practically prep, but you want to have a game plan for yourself. How quickly do you want to get prepared for Level 1, then 2 etc. Who are you going to work with and how are you going to coordinate tasks. What is your simple plan to be ready as quickly as possible.
4. Educating yourself with the abundance of videos and content that is available online and in discussions groups. There really is no excuse to say “I don’t know how”, if anything the challenge is too much good information. So pick a topic you’ve identified as a priority and watch content, talk to others, master the topic so you can execute and get prepped.
With these 4 steps you should have the right mindset, a plan of action, a working group around you and all the education you need to execute, so what are you waiting for?
