Prepping for Apartments

AIM: To consider the unique requirements of apartment living and how you can prep to overcome the limitations of less space and shared utilities.

OVERVIEW: Many Freedom Community members are housed in high density accommodation such as apartments, units, town houses and shared houses. This accommodation presents some key challenges if there is a requirement to survive for an extended period of time in a confined and resources limited space.

Alternate approaches have been considered for the key priorities of survives that include things such as:

  • Water: Storage, filtration, sourcing
  • Food: Storage, preparation, growing your own
  • Utilities: In case of loss of power or gas and lighting
  • Heating: How to keep warm
  • Networking: Connecting with you neighbours to share resources
  • Communication: CB/HAM Radios and other comms solutions
